Predict your future by getting ready now!

  • Maintain a strong GPA and focus on coursework. To be competitive, students typically maintain at least a 3.6 science and overall GPA.

  • Get involved with clubs and student organizations such as our Pre-Optometry Club

  • Begin volunteering and gaining clinical experience. You can volunteer at organizations such as the Arizona Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired or an Optometrist office which we can help you achieve.

  • Prepare and register for the OAT exam between January and March.

  • Take the OAT exam between April and May and begin to gather letters of recommendation (can submit up to 4).

  • Submit your application through OptomCAS between June and August. Click Link for info

  • Be aware of individual school deadlines. You may start receiving supplemental applications or be invited to interview between August and December.
